Check it out… I was able to fill these carts with $679.16 of items for my home using my credit cards points!!
I literally didn’t spend a penny of my hard earned cash. I know….I know it may seem skeptical, but over time I have built my points up that I was able to cash in and get $1500 in gift cards to Home Depot and the kicker….I NEVER paid my credit card company a penny in interest. I am a business owner and charge ALL my business and personal expenses to my personal credit card.
Now….I never suggest doing this unless you can pay the bill in full. I never encourage spending any more on your credit card than what you can pay back in full when the bill comes due. My credit card offers 1 point for every dollar spent and 2 points for every dollar spent on dining and entertainment. They also offer frequent incentives for points on a quarterly or monthly basis. My points do not expire which allows me to build them up and save them for something BIG like my current house remodel.
Let the money you would normally spend on your debit card actually earn something in return for you. A long time ago, I started using my credit card in lieu of my debit card. I started accumulating tons of points by simply switching which card I was using for the expenses that I was paying anyways. I would encourage that in the beginning you start a separate account where you transfer the money you spent on your credit card over to a “credit card” savings account that way you know as you spend that you have enough money to cover the FULL credit card bill when it comes due. This is a great way to get extras without doing much different.
